Really, why do you need assault weapons? Regular hunting rifles work fine. FNFAL's or Ar15's not truely needed.
Semi-auto AR15 is not an assault weapon. Got my AR last year, but in .308 instead of .223 so it would be better for deer hunting. .223 is better suited for varmit hunting. ARs are great hunting rifles. Most hunting rifles started out military rifles anyway.
